MENTAL HEALTH

Mental health is crucial to the sustainability and function of students on campus

  1. We need more mental health professionals with special hiring prioritization for counselors of color

  2. We need institutionalized mental health days throughout the semester

    • These days means no classes/sports/work and have optional mental health resources and events on campus for students

  3. We need mandated requirements for departments to accommodate students who need class off for mental health and personal issues

  4. We need more expanded free external options for counselings aside from Talkspace

  5. We need immediate mental health resources, support, and accommodations for marginalized students when they face harmful and violent experiences on campus

    • This includes anti-blackness, racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexual violence, Islamophobia, antisemitism, ableism, etc.
